How it works

Live FedEx rates on every call.

01

Answers every call

24/7, on the first ring, in English or Spanish — while you run the floor or work the job.

02

Quotes the rate

KwickPhone sends the destination and parcel to FedEx and reads back the live shipping options and cost on the call.

03

Label & tracking

On confirmation it can buy the FedEx label and text the caller a tracking number — straight from the phone order.

In practice

A customer calls a furniture shop at 4 p.m. to order a dresser and asks what it costs to ship it to their address across the state. KwickPhone confirms the item's weight and box dimensions from the order, collects the delivery ZIP code, and requests a live rate from FedEx while the caller is still on the line. It reads back the available service options and prices, and once the customer picks one and pays, KwickPhone purchases the label through FedEx and attaches the tracking number to the order. The caller gets a text with the tracking link before hanging up, and the shipping label is queued for the packing station.

Questions

Do I need a FedEx account?
Yes — connect your FedEx credentials and KwickPhone quotes live rates and prints labels through your own FedEx account, billed to you.
Can it take payment on the call?
Yes — fully PCI-compliant. It charges a card on file or takes a new one, and no one reads a card number out loud.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Sign up yourself and set it up by talking — no website or typing required.
What happens if FedEx is down or times out mid-call?
If a rate request to FedEx fails or is slow, KwickPhone tells the caller shipping will be quoted separately and captures their address and order so a staff member can follow up. It does not guess a price or charge for a label it could not create. The order itself is still saved so nothing is lost.
Can this handle multiple store locations with different origin addresses?
Yes. Each location can be configured with its own ship-from address and FedEx account or credentials, so rates and labels reflect the correct origin. When a call comes in for a specific location, KwickPhone uses that location's settings automatically.
Who owns the shipping data, and what happens if we switch away from FedEx later?
Your account and shipment records live in FedEx, and you retain access to that account directly. KwickPhone stores the tracking number and rate on the order for reference. If you move to a different carrier tool, we reconnect KwickPhone to the new provider and your past labels in FedEx stay where they are.
What parts of shipping does KwickPhone not automate?
KwickPhone quotes rates and buys labels, but it does not weigh or measure packages, print labels at the station, or file damage or loss claims. It also will not negotiate carrier accounts or handle customs paperwork for international freight. Those steps stay with your staff.
